PURPOSE

To design branding for a personal art print store.

RATIONAL

I wanted to design a logo and banner for a personal print store that captured the essence of my paintings. To accomplish this, I first sourced a typeface with organic curves and whimsical letterforms to represent the ornate shapes found on fine art frames. I then collaged several of my pieces to serve as the “color” and “brushstrokes” for these assets. These cut out elements, originating from clothes, skin, and faces, create a sense of depth and texture when paired together. Masking the image with text created additional interest by allowing the whimsical contours of the text to “frame” the art in the letterforms.
